USAA, TTI Begin Extensive Distracted Driving Study

The United Services Automobile Association (USAA) has contracted with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) to conduct an extensive study on the use of cell phones by Texas drivers, and distracted driving in general. North Dakota bans texting while driving

April 27, 2011

On April 26, North Dakota became the 31st state to ban texting while driving. The law will go into effect August 1, and will carry a fine of $100 for those caught texting while driving. CTS staff part of team examining distraction elements of vehicle warning systems

Making cars safer with advanced warning systems has the potential for causing other safety concerns for drivers. Center expands expertise in two key areas

Distracted driving A specialist in distracted driving issues has joined the CTS staff, supporting a broader effort to build knowledge in a rapidly growing area of national interest and concern.
