New Report: Texas Statewide Traffic Safety Awareness Survey: 2020 Results

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) contracted with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) to conduct a 2010 baseline survey and follow-up surveys in subsequent years to track driver attitudes and awareness of traffic safety programs in Texas. Worldwide effort to make roads safer now underway

The Decade of Action for Road Safety — the United Nations plan to reduce the number of road traffic fatalities around the world by 2020 — begins May 11, 2011. Each day, 3,500 people are killed by traffic fatalities worldwide, amounting to 1.3 million deaths each year.
