Registration
is now open for the 2017 Traffic Safety Conference.
This year’s conference theme is Taking Action: The New Texas Strategic Highway Safety Plan and You. The conference will focus on actions we can take to implement the strategies and countermeasures of the revised Texas Strategic Highway Safety Plan. Seven traffic safety issues have been identified for emphasis in the new plan.
- Impaired Driving
- Distracted Driving
- Intersection Safety
- Pedestrian Safety
- Lane and Roadway Departures
- Speeding
- Older System Users
Conference sessions will focus on ways to take action to reduce death and injuries in each area. Interactive sessions to provide feedback on the new plan and to discuss ways to collaborate and work together will be included.
Three pre-conference workshops are being planned.
- Workshop 1 will cover behavioral issues and how you can help reach out to change behavior.
- Workshop 2 will cover engineering countermeasures for intersection safety and roadway and lane departures.
- Workshop 3 will cover impaired driving.
