Last year’s interns attended a crash test at TTI’s Riverside Campus.

The Advancing Transportation Leadership and Safety (ATLAS) Center is now accepting applications for a 10-week summer internship program at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). Up to six junior-level undergraduate students will be selected to participate. The internship will include active involvement on safety-related research projects at TTI with opportunities to interact with students in other summer research programs on the TAMU campus and to participate in university-wide seminars, tours, poster sessions and other events. 

In recent years the ATLAS Center welcomed students from the University of Michigan, Texas A&M University, Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico, and University of Arkansas. Read about their experience on the ATLAS website.

The University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) in collaboration with Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) is pleased to establish a University Transportation Center (UTC) focused on transportation safety. The UTC is called The Center for Advancing Transportation Leadership And Safety (ATLAS Center) and its theme is “Integrated Solutions for Transportation Safety.” The ATLAS Center plans to become an internationally recognized leader in research, education/workforce development, and technology transfer dedicated to finding and promoting integrated solutions for transportation safety.
